Privacy policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026. This policy applies to the website orkestbandstudio.nl and to the OBS Performance Player app (Android). This English version is a translation for your convenience; in case of any difference, the Dutch version prevails.

1. Who we are

Orkestband Studio (OBS) is the data controller for the personal data processed through our website and the Performance Player app. You can reach us at info@orkestbandstudio.nl or through the contact form.

2. Which data we process

Account data. When you register, we process your email address, a password (stored encrypted) and your display name. We use this data to manage your account, let you sign in and contact you about your account.

Uploaded music and results. Songs you upload and the stems, karaoke videos, medleys and mastered files that OBS creates from them are stored on our processing server to provide the service. These files are only accessible to you through short-lived, secure links.

Payments and subscriptions. Payments are handled by Stripe (iDEAL and other payment methods). We do not receive or store full payment details such as your bank account number; we do store your subscription status, the number of available tracks and the payment status. For a separate purchase of the Performance Player, we store the purchase record.

Device registration (Performance Player). For the Performance Player we register a device code and a security key per device, so your licence can be linked to your devices and keeps working offline. No content data is collected from your device.

Technical and analytics data. OBS does not use external trackers (no Google, Meta or other advertising trackers). We measure website use with our own analytics: without consent only an anonymous count per page, without cookies and without storing IP addresses (only a country code, device type and browser name). With your consent for statistics, we use a random visitor ID to count unique and returning visitors and to measure the referral source at registration. You can change this consent at any time via "Privacy settings" at the bottom of every page.

Protection against abuse. To prevent abuse of the free trial, we process an encrypted fingerprint (hash) of the IP address you connect from when you start a trial. We do not store the IP address itself.

Contact messages. If you send us a message through the contact form, we process your name, email address and the content of your message to answer your question.

3. Why we use this data

We process personal data to: provide the service (stem separation, karaoke, mastering, medleys, Performance Player), manage your account and subscription, handle payments, protect the service against abuse, answer questions and — only with consent — measure website use. We never sell your data and do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Retention periods

Processed songs. The results of a processing job (for example separated stems) are deleted from the processing server 30 days after the job is completed.

Analytics data. Raw analytics events are kept for up to 13 months. After that they are summarised into anonymous daily totals and deleted.

Account data. We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Subscription and payment data are kept for as long as legally required for our accounts.

Performance Player. Music, setlists and settings in the Performance Player are stored locally on your own device; we do not store or delete them, not even when your licence ends.

5. Security

We protect your data with measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password storage, access control based on permissions checked on the server, and short-lived signed links for playing and downloading your files. Server log files contain no file names or other personal data.

6. Processors

To provide the service we use the following processors: Stripe (payments), our cloud hosting and database provider (storage of accounts and settings) and our processing server (separating, mastering and rendering your music). These parties process data only on behalf of OBS. The Performance Player app can be installed via Google Play; Google's privacy policy applies to the distribution of the app.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict processing, to data portability and to object. You can withdraw your consent for statistical measurement at any time via "Privacy settings" at the bottom of every page. To exercise your rights, including deleting your account, contact us at info@orkestbandstudio.nl. We will respond as soon as possible, and within 30 days at the latest. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The most recent version is always on this page, with the date of the last change.
